Going forward, I'll probably only eat this once my mouth has adjusted to no sugar (2nd or 3rd week). The berry topping definitely helps.

Bread

Leavened bread is strictly prohibited, however there are a wide variety of breads prepared without leavening agents that are allowed on the Daniel Fast.

Do I make everything from scratch? No. Have I tried? Yes.

Milk Substitutes



Water is the only beverage you can drink on the Daniel Fast, but it doesn't mean you can't still enjoy allowed foods in liquid form for cooking, baking, and meal replacement. Its very easy to make homemade milk, so I would suggest investing in a good blender. The most common milk substitutes include:
  • Coconut milk
  • Almond milk
  • Soy milk
  • Rice milk
  • Cashew milk

Spicy Black Bean Burgers

Ingredients:
2 cans      black beans, drained and rinsed
1 tbs         ground flax
3 tbs        water
1               jalapeno
2 cloves   garlic
2 tbs        tomato sauce
1/2 cup    whole wheat flour
2 tsp        cumin
1 1/4 tsp  salt
1/2 can    corn, drained
1/3 cup    canola oil (for frying)
